News 2010:
Following the devastating earthquake in Yushu in April 2010, Rokpa Canada sent a sum of $10,000 to Rokpa International, to assist with earthquake relief in the community. Yushu was the location of all the yearly Rokpa Canada medical clinics from 1999-2007.
In November, 2010, a team of 10 Rokpa Canada medical volunteers conducted free medical clinics in the Tibetan village of Trinyi, outside of Shangri-La town, in Yunnan Province. The team consisted of six physicians, two physiotherapists, and an ultrasound technician. Medicines for the clinic were donated to Rokpa Canada by both Apotex and Novopharm. Transportation of medical equipment was donated by First Air. Rokpa Canada wishes to express its appreciation for the efforts of the volunteers as well as the generosity of the donors providing medicines and transportation.
